D51 Families,

The US Department of Agriculture recently announced that they are extending their Free Meals for Kids program through the end of December 2020 or until available funding runs out. This means all students in District 51 can access healthy and nutritious breakfast and lunch at school for no additional cost.

Effective Wednesday, September 2, all students at D51 schools will receive free breakfast and lunch, no matter the student's prior free, reduced, or full pay eligibility. Students will not have to present an ID to receive their meals.

We are excited for this news and hope that having accessible and healthy meals for all students will help increase student physical and mental health which will fuel successful learning.

Please note: Households who have not yet applied for free or reduced meals for 2020-21 are encouraged to complete an application so eligible students will receive Free/Reduced meals AFTER December 2020, or when available funding runs out under the current guidance. Reminder: Please remember to write your child's name / lunch number on check.

Enclose loose change / bills in labeled envelope or small Ziploc bag.

Advance payment is encouraged and helps speed up the lunch line. Students are permitted to charge 3 times. A red stamp will be placed on the child's hand after the 3rd charge. We encourage parents to be aware of their child's lunch balance. Call the school cafeteria manager if you require information regarding your child's account at 254-4930 .

Students are offered a peanut butter and jelly sandwich and milk at no cost if their account is beyond the charge limit. Parents are invited to join their children for lunch. Please call the school at 254-4930 by 9:30 a.m. to make your reservation. This will give the lunchroom adequate time to prepare extra meals for guests. Remember to sign our visitor book at the front office.
