Dress Code

School is your child’s workplace, and we ask that they, as well as classroom and school volunteers, dress appropriately.  Children should dress according to the weather.  If it is cold, please send your child to school with warm clothing.  Any dress deemed inappropriate is not allowed to be worn at school.  Please help your child make choices that will be conducive to a positive learning environment.  Below are guidelines that can be used when making school-appropriate choices.

  • Pants should not fall below the waist.
  • Shirts, blouses, and dresses should completely cover the abdomen, back, and shoulders. Shirts or tops should cover the waistband of pants, shorts, or skirts with no midriff visible. Hats should not be worn inside the school building.
  • Footwear is required and must be safe and appropriate for indoor/outdoor physical activity. Flip-flop type sandals are not appropriate footware.
  • Short-shorts/mini skirts are deemed inappropriate attire. Shorts, skirts, and dresses should be at least fingertip length, approximately 2 inches or less above the knee, and should not be tight fitting.
  • Clothing with references to alcohol, tobacco, gangs, weapons, crudity, nudity, adult or mature themes, or violence is not permissible.
